Jail History and Structure

In 1983, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Ord. The justice center houses the Valley County county sheriff, Ord police department offices, and the Valley County Jail. The Valley County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Valley County Jail. Originally, the Valley County Jail could house approximately 1571 inmates.

Over the years, the Valley County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Valley County county.
