Jail History and Structure

In 1983, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Grant. The justice center houses the Perkins County county sheriff, Grant police department offices, and the Perkins County Jail. The Perkins County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Perkins County Jail. Originally, the Perkins County Jail could house approximately 2245 inmates.

Over the years, the Perkins County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Perkins County county.
