Jail History and Structure

In 1977, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Hayes Center. The justice center houses the Hayes County county sheriff, Hayes Center police department offices, and the Hayes County Jail. The Hayes County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Hayes County Jail. Originally, the Hayes County Jail could house approximately 1592 inmates.

Over the years, the Hayes County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Hayes County county.

Juvenile Detention Center
