Jail History and Structure
In 1977, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Lockport. The justice center houses the Niagara County county sheriff, Lockport police department offices, and the Niagara County Jail. The Niagara County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Niagara County Jail. Originally, the Niagara County Jail could house approximately 1456 inmates.
