Jail History and Structure

In 1980, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Franklin. The justice center houses the Macon County county sheriff, Franklin police department offices, and the Macon County Detention Center. The Macon County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Macon County Detention Center. Originally, the Macon County Detention Center could house approximately 2374 inmates.
