Jail History and Structure

In 1979, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Amidon. The justice center houses the Slope County county sheriff, Amidon police department offices, and the Slope County Jail. The Slope County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Slope County Jail. Originally, the Slope County Jail could house approximately 2109 inmates.

Over the years, the Slope County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Slope County county.
