Jail History and Structure

In 1983, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Ardmore. The justice center houses the Carter County county sheriff, Ardmore police department offices, and the Carter County Jail. The Carter County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Carter County Jail. Originally, the Carter County Jail could house approximately 1822 inmates.
