Jail History and Structure

In 1987, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Poteau. The justice center houses the LeFlore County county sheriff, Poteau police department offices, and the LeFlore County Jail. The LeFlore County county sheriff is the general overseer of the LeFlore County Jail. Originally, the LeFlore County Jail could house approximately 1898 inmates.
