Jail History and Structure
In 1980, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Coquille. The justice center houses the Coos County county sheriff, Coquille police department offices, and the Coos County Sheriff’s Jail. The Coos County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Coos County Sheriff’s Jail. Originally, the Coos County Sheriff’s Jail could house approximately 1484 inmates.
