Jail History and Structure

In 1976, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Butler. The justice center houses the Butler County county sheriff, Butler police department offices, and the Butler County Prison. The Butler County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Butler County Prison. Originally, the Butler County Prison could house approximately 2043 inmates.
