Jail History and Structure
In 1986, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Bishopville. The justice center houses the Lee County county sheriff, Bishopville police department offices, and the Lee County Jail. The Lee County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Lee County Jail. Originally, the Lee County Jail could house approximately 1704 inmates.
