Jail History and Structure

In 1976, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Philip. The justice center houses the Haakon County county sheriff, Philip police department offices, and the Haakon County Jail. The Haakon County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Haakon County Jail. Originally, the Haakon County Jail could house approximately 1496 inmates.
