Jail History and Structure

In 1990, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Howard. The justice center houses the Miner County county sheriff, Howard police department offices, and the Miner County Jail. The Miner County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Miner County Jail. Originally, the Miner County Jail could house approximately 2112 inmates.

Over the years, the Miner County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Miner County county.

Juvenile Detention Center
