Jail History and Structure

In 1982, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Winner. The justice center houses the Tripp County county sheriff, Winner police department offices, and the Tripp County Jail. The Tripp County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Tripp County Jail. Originally, the Tripp County Jail could house approximately 1561 inmates.

Over the years, the Tripp County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Tripp County county.
