Jail History and Structure

In 1980, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Emory. The justice center houses the Rains County county sheriff, Emory police department offices, and the Rains County Jail. The Rains County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Rains County Jail. Originally, the Rains County Jail could house approximately 1996 inmates.
