Jail History and Structure

In 1988, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Saint Johnsbury. The justice center houses the Caledonia County county sheriff, Saint Johnsbury police department offices, and the Caledonia County Jail. The Caledonia County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Caledonia County Jail. Originally, the Caledonia County Jail could house approximately 1436 inmates.
