Jail History and Structure

In 1987, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Floyd. The justice center houses the Floyd County county sheriff, Floyd police department offices, and the Floyd County Jail. The Floyd County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Floyd County Jail. Originally, the Floyd County Jail could house approximately 2270 inmates.
