Jail History and Structure
In 1981, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Sutton. The justice center houses the Braxton County county sheriff, Sutton police department offices, and the Braxton County Jail. The Braxton County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Braxton County Jail. Originally, the Braxton County Jail could house approximately 2406 inmates.
