Jail History and Structure
In 1983, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Huntington. The justice center houses the Cabell County county sheriff, Huntington police department offices, and the Cabell County Jail. The Cabell County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Cabell County Jail. Originally, the Cabell County Jail could house approximately 2410 inmates.
Over the years, the Cabell County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Cabell County county.
