Jail History and Structure

In 1986, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Glenville. The justice center houses the Gilmer County county sheriff, Glenville police department offices, and the Gilmer County Jail. The Gilmer County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Gilmer County Jail. Originally, the Gilmer County Jail could house approximately 2412 inmates.
