Jail History and Structure

In 1985, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Princeton. The justice center houses the Mercer County county sheriff, Princeton police department offices, and the Mercer County Jail. The Mercer County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Mercer County Jail. Originally, the Mercer County Jail could house approximately 2024 inmates.

Over the years, the Mercer County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Mercer County county.

Juvenile Detention Center
