Jail History and Structure

In 1985, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Alma. The justice center houses the Buffalo County county sheriff, Alma police department offices, and the Buffalo County Jail. The Buffalo County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Buffalo County Jail. Originally, the Buffalo County Jail could house approximately 2281 inmates.
