Jail History and Structure

In 1982, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Manitowoc. The justice center houses the Manitowoc County county sheriff, Manitowoc police department offices, and the Manitowoc County Jail. The Manitowoc County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Manitowoc County Jail. Originally, the Manitowoc County Jail could house approximately 1821 inmates.
