Jail History and Structure

In 1987, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Medicine Lodge. The justice center houses the Barber County county sheriff, Medicine Lodge police department offices, and the Barber County Jail. The Barber County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Barber County Jail. Originally, the Barber County Jail could house approximately 1824 inmates.
