Jail History and Structure

In 1978, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Albion. The justice center houses the Boone County county sheriff, Albion police department offices, and the Boone County Jail. The Boone County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Boone County Jail. Originally, the Boone County Jail could house approximately 2076 inmates.

Over the years, the Boone County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Boone County county.

Juvenile Detention Center
