Jail History and Structure

In 1988, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Devils Lake. The justice center houses the Ramsey County county sheriff, Devils Lake police department offices, and the Ramsey County Jail. The Ramsey County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Ramsey County Jail. Originally, the Ramsey County Jail could house approximately 1758 inmates.

Over the years, the Ramsey County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Ramsey County county.
