Jail History and Structure

In 1989, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Tiffin. The justice center houses the Seneca County county sheriff, Tiffin police department offices, and the Seneca County Jail. The Seneca County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Seneca County Jail. Originally, the Seneca County Jail could house approximately 2218 inmates.

Over the years, the Seneca County Jail has undergone numerous modifications and eventually became one of the largest facilities in the Seneca County county.
