Jail History and Structure
In 1987, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Prineville. The justice center houses the Crook County county sheriff, Prineville police department offices, and the Crook County Jail. The Crook County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Crook County Jail. Originally, the Crook County Jail could house approximately 1469 inmates.
