Jail History and Structure

In 1983, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Gainesboro. The justice center houses the Jackson County county sheriff, Gainesboro police department offices, and the Jackson County Jail. The Jackson County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Jackson County Jail. Originally, the Jackson County Jail could house approximately 1619 inmates.
