Jail History and Structure
In 1976, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown Livingston. The justice center houses the Overton County county sheriff, Livingston police department offices, and the Overton County Jail. The Overton County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Overton County Jail. Originally, the Overton County Jail could house approximately 2298 inmates.
