Jail History and Structure

In 1979, a criminal justice center was constructed in downtown La Crosse. The justice center houses the La Crosse County county sheriff, La Crosse police department offices, and the Western Regional Adolescent Center. The La Crosse County county sheriff is the general overseer of the Western Regional Adolescent Center. Originally, the Western Regional Adolescent Center could house approximately 1765 inmates.
